Rival Fall Play Day Schedule Announced

Girls and Boys Rival Fall Play Day 2008 @ Cary Elementary School 9:00am-12:30pm

What:           Rival Boys and Girls Youth Play Day
When :         Saturday November 1st, 2008
Time:           9:00am-12:30pm
Location:    Cary Elementary School, 400 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary, NC

Please try and arrive by 8:45am for the early session and 10:15am for the Late session and meet with your Site Directors to get organized for the day so we can get started promptly for each session. Site Directors are as follows:

Cary Boys – Ryan Cummings
Chapel Hill Boys – Evan Leekley
Durham Boys – Jon Lantzy
N. Raleigh Boy’s and Girl’s – Sandy Kapatos
Durham/Chapel Hill – Martina McPhearson

There will be 5 different activities that your child will participate in during the day to include:

Two sets of games
A skill related obstacle course to show off all the improvement they have made in there individual skills. (Prizes will be awarded)
Radar clocked hardest shot station. (Prizes will be awarded)
Shot accuracy station. (Prizes will be awarded)

Each activity will last 30 minutes

We will have a 15 minute meeting to wrap –up the day and award prizes and give important information regarding spring programs and wrapping up the fall instructional league.

9:00-10:45am - The kids will be broken up by grade and site location. The groups will be as follows:

Group 1 – Will start at Field #1 for Games
Cary Boys 1^st – 2^nd Grades Boy’s
Chapel Hill Boys 1^st – 2^nd Grades Boy’s
Durham Boys 1^st – 2^nd Grades Boy’s
N. Raleigh 1^st – 2^nd Grade Boy’s

Group 2- Will start at Field #2 for Games
Durham/Chapel Hill Girl’s - All Grades
N. Raleigh Girl’s Grades – All Grades

Group 3 – Will start at Hardest Shot, Accuracy Stations and Obstacle Course
Cary Boys 3^rd & 4^th Grade Boy’s
Chapel Hill Boys 3^rd & 4^th Grade Boy’s
Durham Boys 3^rd & 4^th Grade Boy’s
N. Raleigh Boy’s 3^rd & 4^th Grade Boy’s

Rival Lacrosse Mission Statement

                Rival Lacrosse, Fusion Lacrosse and all its’ affiliated programs have the mission to promote and honor the fun game of lacrosse among the youth of Durham County, Orange County, City of Cary and N. Raleigh North Carolina. Our staff will strive to enhance each player’s individual and team skills with a consistent emphasis on sportsmanship and fair play. Teaching life lessons beyond the playing field and recognizing the importance of all players and participation regardless of ability, talent or skill is our philosophy.

Program Summary

                  The Rival Lacrosse fall instructional program for boys and girls will stress the foundation of individual skill development and its’ progression into group and team play. The eight (8) week fall program will build upon the foundation of skills taught the previous week. Our staff will work to achieve mastery of each skill for each participant with the hope of culminating the fall with a successful understanding of individual and team concepts. Our fall program will lay the groundwork for our spring play league.
